You really can feel more alive today!

I have stumbled upon a great and powerful lesson! 🙂

Last week I realized I hadn’t gone for a walk once in the month of February!

Now, it’s been cold and I’ve been working on editing a series of videos, which is a time-consuming project – words, words, words (as my teen would say)!

Yes, I had “reasons”, but I didn’t like that I had zero boxes colored in for “Walk” on my February Practices Tracking Sheet!

So last Wednesday, I committed to walking four days in a row: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I knew I had more space on these days and could make it happen. And I knew that committing to 4 days in a row would be a big enough shift to feel the change.

Well – I am on day 8 (of 9)! I did my original 4 days, through a couple of really cold ones too, and then Monday, it was nearly 60 degrees – so why would I miss that day?!

The lesson is so simple and one we (I) learn again and again.

It is contained in the quote below and really, in so many of my coaching conversations.

“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards: they try to have more things,
or more money, in order to do more of what they want so that they will be happier.
The way it actually works is the reverse.
You must first be who you really are, then, do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.”
~ Margaret Young

Living the life we want to live starts now. Choosing how we use our time, our money, our energy is over and over again our choice

I am a pretty simple person at heart! If I can exercise, meditate, write, get out in nature, hug (at least some of) the people I love, and make an impact on others each day – that’s just about all I need.

I’ve been doing most of these, but not giving myself that daily time in nature. That has now shifted, and I feel so much more alive!

What simple pleasure are you not allowing yourself to have? What can help you shift that? Reach out if you need support.

It is from the small changes that big shifts happen.
